8 Easy Tips To Improve Your Travel Experience

8 easy tips

HERE ARE THE 8 EASY TIPS…

When you think of travel, do you see it as something that takes a long time to plan which location you will be traveling to next? If so, then you have a narrow view of it. Traveling is so much more and it can be customized so that it works for you. Let’s jump in and take a look at some options.

Pack your luggage in such a way that it can be easily carried, even for fairly long distances. You’ll be walking with your luggage more often than you might think. A lighter bag will make your trip easier, safer and much more fun for you than if you are lugging a heavy case.

1. Luggage

If you are planning a trip abroad, make sure you get your passport well in advance. Many people underestimate how long it takes to get a passport for the first time and are left scrambling and paying extra fees to get it expedited. Plan for your passport to take six to eight weeks to arrive, especially in peak travel season.

2. Music/Entertainment

Driving far in a car means consistently changing radio stations for ones that are clear. To solve this, download playlists on your phone or iPod/iPad with all of the group’s favorite songs so you can jam happily without distracting yourself by trying to find a clear station while driving. This also allows for you guys to listen to music non-stop rather than sit and wait for commercials to end.

3. Finding a Place To Visit

If you are having a problem picking a destination to travel to, then you must make a list. Make a list of the top places you want to visit and then rank them. From that list you can then research how much it would cost to travel and pay for expenses while in that area.  This can help narrow your decision in picking places you want to visit in the near future.

4. Flight Attendant Gratitude

Bring a gift for the flight attendants to gain special treatment. Flight attendants are generally treated very poorly, and if you bring them a treat, like a store-bought pie or something similar, they will recognize your generosity and treat you accordingly. Remember to thank them for doing their jobs. They are working for your safety, not as your maid.

5. Simplifying Packing

If you really do not like packing, have a toiletry bag ready. Put all your needed bathroom items in it and just keep it prepared for travel. This way you can can cut down on time spent packing.

To help you lighten your luggage, use sample size cosmetics and toiletries when you pack. If you don’t need a full size bottle of shampoo, there is no reason to carry it across the country. Most drugstores have a travel section where you can purchase travel-size shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and more.

Try to pack light when traveling. The last thing you want to be doing when traveling is lugging heavy bags and suitcases through airport terminals and onto buses and trains. Only pack items that you are sure you will need and think about which items you could buy at your destination.

6. Tagging Your Bags

When packing your luggage for a flight, affix a card with your name, phone and address inside the bag in the event the luggage is misplaced and tags are lost. Often the airlines will inspect the inside of lost luggage when the tag is lost, in an effort to find some identifying information about the owner.

7. Chargers

If you have a tendency to forget your charger when traveling, try asking the hotel front desk if they have any. Many places have boxes of cords that have been left behind and if you search, you may be able to find one that fits your needs. You can also see if they have an international adapter as well.

8. Travel Smart

If you love to travel but have a chronic illness, don’t fret! Your traveling days are not over. Just remember to travel smart by having all of your necessary medical supplies and emergency information readily accessible. You’ll feel more comfortable leaving home and be prepared for any emergency situation!

After reading through all of that, do you still see traveling in the same way? Do you now see that it is so much more and that there are very simple things that you can add to your plan to help enjoy your trip more? It’s not a ton of work; it’s truly whatever you make of it.

Hope these 8 easy tips have made you become a better traveler and adventurer
